Nearly $2 million will now be available for economic development in St. Lawrence County after Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed legislation that allows proceeds from the sale of a block of hydropower from NYPA's St. Lawrence-Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project to be used to help create jobs and build industry in the region.
State legislative leaders have reached an agreement allowing the St. Lawrence River Valley Redevelopment Agency to sell the unused portion of its low-cost power allocation and use the proceeds to spur economic growth in St. Lawrence County.
The St. Lawrence River Valley Redevelopment Agency is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Town of Louisville Municipal Offices, State Highway 37, Massena.
